More about Debby Debby Brown is a native Roman. She has two grown children, Quentin and Mollie. Through her children she became involved with the Rome Little Theater. She spent 19 years volunteering there. About 14 years of that time was spent on the board where she spent at least 5 years as V.P. of Membership and at least 5 more as V.P. of Production. As V.P. of Production she was over all productions produced by RLT. During the time she was V.P. of production she worked on every show in some capacity, either by producing, doing house, doing the set, props or publicity. She has produced over 20 plays while at the theater. While at the theater she created The Haunted Theater and ran it for Halloween for 4 years. She created Reel Trees, an event to raise money to pay for renovations to the foyer ceiling. Separately from the theater she founded the Sunshine Theater and Arts Camp for 5 years. She was employed at The Rome Area History Museum for two years, where she did all tours and managed the gift shop, then she went to Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home and has been Programs Director there for 9 years. She does 95% of all tours and all field trips, puppet shows and all storytelling for the children. For 8 of those years she created and has ran the Chieftains Summer Camp. This camp involves learning Cherokee culture, doing arts and crafts, storytelling, and theater. The camp ends with the campers doing a program of the Cherokee Animal stories for family and friends. For over 10 years she has been a member of the Seven Hills Tellers, a local Storytelling group. She has told with other members and alone. The last event she told at was the National Creative Society’s two day arts program at the forum. She loves working with children, art and theater!
