Description: This fun, history walk will start at the Chieftain’s museum at 9:00 a.m. on September the 5th. $5.00/ adult, $3.00 /children. At Chieftain’s, you’ll learn about the history of the area before Rome was founded 175 years ago, and about the native Cherokees who lived here. Dennis Nordeman will accompany walkers and speak of the importance of the three rivers, throughout Rome’s history and into present times. Dennis will share historic anecdotes about each block that is traveled along the way. Then the walk will end with a short tour through Rome Area History Museum to explore other aspects of Rome’s history, from Rome’s founding through today. Both Chieftain’s Museum and Rome Area History Museum will be open September 5th, free of charge to the public. Please join us for a little exercise and a fun trip through time!
