It’s finally getting cold around here and I’m sure all of you have noticed the leaves finally changing colors.  Don’t miss out on this beautiful weather we are having while it lasts. Below are a list of great places to see the fall colors change.

Berry College – This list wouldn’t be complete without the beautiful college campus of Berry College.  I’m sure everyone in Rome knows about this campus and if you have never been here, you definitely have to go.  It is gorgeous piece of land to hike or bike to see the leaves change colors.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway – I have been told by friends that the train ride during the fall is absolutely beautiful.  Tucked into the charming mountain village of Blue Ridge, Georgia in the lush Chattahoochee National Forest, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is here to take you on the trip of a lifetime. The area is known as the “antique capital” of Georgia with friendly folks and an old time atmosphere.

Chattanooga Riverboat -Cruise the Grand Canyon of the Tennessee River and see one of nature’s most magnificent wonders dressed in all of its fall splendor. The Southern Belle Riverboat will take you on a cruise of the famous Tennessee River Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of the South, to see nature’s brilliant canvas of vivid fall colors.

Cloudland Canyon – Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state, offering rugged geology and beautiful vistas. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton’s Gulch Creek, and elevation differs from 800 to 1,980 feet.

Johns Mountain Trail – This is probably one of the closest places to Rome that has a beautiful overlook to see all the leaves change colors in the Mountains.  Hopefully the visitors there have been keeping this place clean.

Little River Canyon – Enjoy the beautiful waterfall as well as the scenic drive with many wonderful overlooks.  We try to go here every year to see the leaves change.  It’s a great place to visit.

Lula Lake Land Trust – This is a very beautiful piece of property that has a surreal aqua colored lake and a big waterfall you can hike down to.  If you have never been here, I would definitely recommend a visit.  It is only open on Saturdays.  Make sure to check their schedule because sometimes they are closed for wedding and other activities.
